Our commitment

There is no compromise here. LoverSpot is for adults — 18 and over — and we use every tool available to keep it that way. We work with the world's leading child-safety organizations, we report mandatorily to authorities, and we ban for life. This page explains the specifics.

18+ verification

At signup, every member confirms their date of birth and uploads a selfie. Our system estimates apparent age from the selfie and cross-references it against the stated date of birth. Anyone flagged as potentially underage cannot enter the discover feed until they complete additional age verification — typically a government ID check via our partner Veriff.

We don't store the ID images. Veriff verifies and returns yes/no. The image is deleted within 24 hours.

CSAM hash matching

Every photo uploaded to LoverSpot is hashed and checked against three industry-standard databases:

• PhotoDNA (Microsoft) — the most widely used image hashing system for CSAM
• NCMEC hash list — the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's database
• Project Arachnid hash list — operated by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection

Any match is removed within seconds. The user account is suspended immediately, the incident is preserved, and the matter is reported to authorities under our mandatory reporting obligations.

Reporting channel

Suspected child safety violations go to a dedicated channel that bypasses normal triage: [email protected]. Reports are reviewed within minutes by our trained T&S lead. Outside business hours, an on-call rotation handles incoming reports.

You can also report directly from inside the app — every profile and message has a Report button. Selecting "Underage user" routes the report to the dedicated channel automatically.

Where local law requires direct reporting to authorities (e.g. France, Spain, Germany), we comply automatically — we don't wait for a request.

Transparency

We publish an annual child safety transparency report covering: total accounts removed for underage activity, CSAM hash matches detected and reported, NCMEC CyberTipline reports filed, and law enforcement requests received. The most recent report is at newsroom under "Transparency reports".
