Leaving us? No questions.

The two-tap version

Open the app → Settings → Privacy → Delete account. Confirm. Done. We don't ask why. We don't try to talk you out of it.

Your profile is hidden immediately — no one can see, match with, or message you. The full data deletion takes up to 90 days to complete across our systems and backups (this is a legal retention requirement, not a delay we control).

What gets deleted

  • Your profile (photos, bio, prompts, preferences) — immediately hidden, permanently removed within 90 days
  • Your messages and date history — within 90 days
  • Your verification photo — already deleted at signup
  • Your subscription is cancelled (you may need to confirm on Apple or Google's side)
  • Your push notification tokens — immediately
  • Your matching history — within 90 days

What stays

A small set of data is retained for legitimate purposes:

  • Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics with no link back to you (e.g. "we had 240k first dates booked in June" — your share of that count remains)
  • Subscription transaction records for financial reporting and tax purposes (typically 7-10 years, as required by law)
  • Records of any policy violations if you were banned — this prevents you from circumventing a ban by creating a new account
  • Backups — encrypted, 30-day rolling window. After 30 days, no backup contains your data

Restoration

You can restore your account within 30 days of deletion by logging back in with the same phone number. After 30 days the account is irrecoverable — gone for good.

If you change your mind after 30 days, you'd need to sign up fresh. We can't reach back into deleted data.

Cancel subscription separately

Deleting your account doesn't automatically cancel a paid subscription on Apple or Google's side. To avoid being charged again:

  • iOS: Settings → Apple ID (top) → Subscriptions → LoverSpot → Cancel
  • Android: Play Store → Subscriptions → LoverSpot → Cancel

GDPR / CNDP / CCPA right to erasure

Under privacy laws in most jurisdictions, you have the right to have your personal data erased. The deletion flow above honors this right. If you need formal documentation for your records, email [email protected] and we'll send a confirmation.

If someone is pressuring you to delete your account, or has accessed your account without permission and is threatening to delete it, please email [email protected] immediately. We can help.
